Make sure you're buying the real deal!
When shopping for your next Hitachi power tool, make sure you're dealing with an authorised Hitachi Dealer.
Only an Authorised Hitachi Dealer can:
- Provide a genuine factory backed warranty on the product you have purchased
- Access Hitachis spare parts warehousing and distribution network in New Zealand for prompt and professional repairs
- Guarantee to you that the product you are purchasing has been designed and approved for New Zealand conditions
Don't get caught out!
Watch out for traders looking to make a quick buck by selling you product that isn't suitable for New Zealand conditions.
Some examples of things to watch out for are:
- Power Tools must be tested and approved for use under New Zealand conditions
- Tools imported without electrical safety approval may be hazardous when operated on New Zealand mains power with potentially catastrophic consequences
- Tools without New Zealand electrical safety approval will not be able to be tagged for electrical compliance
- Always ask to see the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) printed on the Hitachi Power Tool as proof that the tool has been tested and approved for New Zealand Conditions
- Beware of Outdoor Power Equipment that has been built for other overseas markets - carburettors will not be tuned for New Zealand fuel and therefore starting, performance, fuel efficiency and emissions may be affected
- Models that differ from the range designed and approved for New Zealand will be difficult to repair and maintain. Authorised Service Agents may not be able to access the spare parts required to repair the tools
- Watch out for copy or counterfeit products. Some traders are out to mislead you into thinking you are buying genuine Hitachi products. Their items may look real on the outside but be substandard on the inside.
- A modern Hitachi Power Tool has an array of Hi-tech chemistry, battery technology and electronic sensors to keep the tool and operator safe. Copy products are likely to be missing some or all of these essential components in an effort to cut corners and mislead you with cheap products.
